Learning and Concentration Tips

Maintaining concentration levels is one of the hardest aspects of studying, especially if you don’t feel very passionate about the subject you’re learning. Concentration is one of the key factors behind exam success, however, and your concentration levels while studying will impact your performance in your exams. Here are some tips to help you improve your concentration, so you can make the most of your study time.

Create a quiet space

Make sure you choose somewhere quiet and free of distractions to study, where you won’t be interrupted. A polite suggestion is to put your phone on silent so you won’t be disturbed by other people. Set a rule for yourself to not answer any calls or text for a certain period of time.

Work out your most productive study time

Some people work better in the morning, while others work better in the afternoon or evening. Try to identify your ideal study time early on, and tailor your day around that. Often, it’s more psychologically rewarding to try and get as much done as possible early in the day; however different people will have different study habits.

Make sure you’ve met your basic needs

Sitting down to study when you’re tired, hungry, thirsty, or distracted by events in your personal life will hinder your concentration, no matter how good your study tools are. Make sure you’re well rested and have had something to eat and drink before you start studying. If you find you are thinking about people or events outside your study session or you are daydreaming, try not to get caught up in your thoughts and put them aside until later.

Break down large subject areas into smaller topics

Breaking down large subject areas into smaller topics helps make them less daunting. The iFlipTips app is perfect for this task, as it allows you to create digital flashcards containing text, audio, video, and images. Learning information in bite-sized pieces helps improve your concentration, and speeds up your learning process.

Do one thing at a time

Don’t try to study multiple subjects or topics at the same time, as you will just confuse yourself. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with the amount you have to learn, try creating a study plan, with hourly slots for each subject. iFlipTips is useful for ensuring you only study one thing at a time, as you can separate your flashcards into different folders, and keep relevant cards together. You can also use iFlipCards, a tool within iFlipTips, to test your knowledge of a single topic before moving on to the next.

Start the Hardest Subject area or Topic First

It’s tempting to leave the subjects we find difficult until we’ve learned all the easier topics first. Working on the hardest subjects before anything else, however, will give you more time to go back and make sure you’ve learned the information thoroughly. Taking a break between topics allows you to process the information you’ve learned, and test your recall. When organizing study notes in iFlipTips, especially if you’re using the folders to create a study calendar, arrange sub-folders and files with the hardest subjects first, so you’re not tempted to skip to the easier subjects and leave the hard work for later.

Presentation Development and Improving Presentation Skills Using iFlipTips

Good presentation skills are crucial. We use them in our careers and our personal lives, and utilize these skills even when we might not realize it. Developing your onsite and online (webinar) presentation skills can have a positive impact on many different areas of your life and, for that reason; it’s beneficial to improve your presentation skills, even if public speaking isn’t a key part of your job role right now.

iFlipTips is a study and training app for iPad and iPhone that revolutionizes the way we deliver and absorb information. As well as being an invaluable tool for students of all subjects, iFlipTips can also help you when you’re teaching yourself new skills. The app avoids the traditional text-based learning style, and instead focuses on providing you with a variety of tools to help you create flashcards that increase your learning speed and help you retain and recall more information in less time.

The iFlipTips app is divided into two sections: iTips-Ideas cards and iFlipCards. Each card contains four different formats: text, image, audio, and video, so you can record and store information using different mediums. When studying and improving your presentation skills, you can use these different formats to learn new skills more efficiently.

If you’re working to improve your presentation skills, the best place to start is to evaluate where you are at the moment. iFlipTips helps you do this, as you can record yourself giving a staged or real presentation using the audio and video functions. Doing this can help you identify and improve aspects of your presentation, such as your body language and tone of voice.

The ability to record videos and audio clips means you can also capture snippets of public speakers and presenters you admire, and use the recordings to compare their style to your own practice sessions. Watching other successful public speakers, you can identify what you enjoy about their delivery, and attempt to reproduce that in your own presentations.

As you develop your skills, recording yourself can also help you prepare for live public speaking engagements. Thorough preparation helps you gain confidence in your ability to give an engaging and interesting presentation. Practice is the key to success, and using the iFlipTips video function, you can simulate what it feels like to have a live audience.

The text function can help you make key notes about presenting skills, for example that you should never start with an apology unless you’ve made an error, and that you should always credit the source of quotes you use. By saving these “notes” in ordered folders, you can easily refer back to them later to remind yourself of key messages and tips.

As well as helping you improve your presentation skills, you can also use iFlipTips to keep you on track during presentations. Use iTips-Ideas cards to outline the structure of your presentation, and record key quotes and facts you want to remember in the text box. If you want to, you can also share your notes with others via email, Facebook or Twitter directly through the app.

If you plan to include a question and answer session at the end of a presentation, the iFlipCards can help you prepare. Create a separate “question” card for each question you anticipate being asked, and then create an ideal response on the “answer” card. Avoid memory blanks and feelings of panic, and instead enjoy confidence in knowing that you’ve prepared as thoroughly as you can.

Creating Digital Catalogs Using iFlipTips

iFlipTips is a new note-taking app developed by TECHtionary. It takes the concept of traditional 3×5 flashcards, and translates it into a digital tool for your iPhone and iPad. The app allows you to create digital cards, which you can then store on your iDevice, using text, images, audio recordings and video clips. The cards come in three formats: iFlipCards are question and answer cards, iFlip-Slides are slide show-style cards, while iTips-Ideas card are note-taking cards.

iFlipTips is the perfect companion for students and professionals alike, as its format makes it highly versatile, and means it can be used for a variety of tasks, from studying for exams, to keeping a digital catalogue of business stock and services. If you run your own business, you can use the iFlipTips app to create a catalogue of your products, services, or both, that you can access and share with potential customers and clients with just a few taps.

If you want to use iFlipTips to create a digital catalogue, start by organizing the folders into a system that is suitable for filing your products or services. You can add as many folders and sub-folders as you like, so you have a lot of flexibility to create a customized folder system that works for your business. Possible folder systems include organizing products and services alphabetically, and creating separate folders for different sections of the alphabet. Alternatively, you can organize products by category, for example if you sell a range of home products, you can create separate folders for each room of the house.

Once you’ve created your folders, you can start creating individual cards for each product or service. To do this, use iTips-Ideas cards or iFlip-Slides. Using the text box, provide a description of the product or service, including any information that you would want to send to clients. You can include a picture of the product in the image section, which you can take with your iPhone or iPad. If relevant, you can also record an audio description, or create a video that explains how the product or service works.

The different mediums provide you with a chance to record exactly what your business offers, and to show potential customers and clients how your product or service works in as much detail as possible. Once you’ve saved your iTips-Ideas card or iFlipSlide in the correct folder, you can share your cards with others via email, Facebook or Twitter.

iTips-Ideas cards and iFlipSlides are useful for creating a catalogue of individual items, however iFlipCards can help you in a different, but equally as important, way. Designed in a question and answer format, you can use these cards to create a Frequently Asked Questions list that you can then use to answer questions from any potential customers or collaborators. This section of the app helps you prepare for customer inquiries and presentations, and prevents you being caught off-guard by unexpected questions.

iFlipTips  newest additions is called iFlipTipsPro and has a iFlipTips Calendar and multicolor notepads/iDoodleGrams called iFlipPads are perfect ways to adhere to a schedule and manipulate pictures and images for a variety of note uses.  The ideas tool is useful for organizing and tracking notes, and other academic related activities. HR compliance Using iFlipTips iPhone-iPad App

iFlipTips is a note-taking and record app for iPhone and iPad by TECHtionary. Versatile and easy to use, the app is invaluable in a range of situations, especially business. The app is divided into three sections, each with a different purpose. “iFlipCards” allows you to create question and answer cards, while “iTipsIdeas Cards” allow you to create notes and records. With the recent release of version two, users can now also make the most of the app’s slideshow feature, and create professional-looking presentations on the go.

iFlipTips’ flexible structure makes it the perfect tool to create a digital brochure or handbook. If you deal with HR compliance, and need to train new employees and disseminate information, iFlipTips is exactly the tool you’re looking for in order to do this effectively and efficiently. Each card or set or cards can be shared via email, Facebook or Twitter, so you can send information to other people in just a few taps.

Creating a Handbook

The “iTipsIdeas” section of the app is perfect for creating an HR manual that you can pass on to employees via email. Each “card” can contain text, an image, a video and an audio clip, so you can explain your company’s HR policies to employees using a variety of different formats. For example, you could use the text box to provide an overview of the policy, and then demonstrate the policy in practice using images, audio or a video clip.

Within each section in iFlipTips, you can organize the cards into different folders. This allows you to separate each HR policy into different sections and create your own digital manual.

Training sessions

Not everyone learns through reading, so being able to explain HR policies using different formats is a valuable learning tool. As all iFlipTips cards are shared digitally, you also save money on producing physical copies of tapes or DVDs for employees and management.

As well as catering to different learning styles, you can use iFlipTips cards to make training sessions more interactive. For example, you can use the video function to create welcome videos, or create short movies depicting different scenarios that are relevant to your HR policies.

iFlipTips cards are useful to pass along to employees, and iFlipTips is also helpful for presentations. iFlipSlides is a new addition to version two of the iFlipTips app, and it enables you to create and edit slides – again, with text, audio, video and images – for a presentation.

“iFlipCards” are question and answer flash cards. They show the question on one side of the card, then the answer on the other side of the card. This part of the app is useful for training, as it enables you to test what the staff members have learned. You can also use this section of the app to create an HR-related quiz for the new employees’ handbook.

Updates

iFlipTips is a flexible system that allows you to create your own filing system, and update it when necessary. Therefore, if you need to make changes to your HR book, you can send the amended cards to recipients at once using the “share by email” feature. Once your folders are set up, you can add or edit as many cards as you need as your company’s HR policies are updated.

Whether you’re looking for a digital solution for storing your HR compliance handbook, or a helpful tool that will assist you with training new employees, and running refresher courses for existing staff and management, iFlipTips is a cost- and time-effective tool that gives professional results.

iFlipTips Version 3.0 – Independent Review by Hannah B – iPhone/iPad App

iFlipTips is a study and training app from TECHtionary. It’s a note-taking app that I’ve enjoyed using for my studies, and in my professional life. With the recent addition of two new features, the app has become even more useful for organizing notes and appointments. Thanks to the way the app is structured, I’ve been able to access notes for study and work quickly and easily. iFlipTips has help me develop my memory skills, increase my information retention rates, and create my own customized personal organizer. It’s so useful to have all the information I need right in the palm of my hand.

The app is divided into three sections: iFlipCards, iFlipSlides and iTipsIdeas. With the latest version of the app, you can also access a calendar, which enables you to create appointments.

In each of the three sections, you can create different ‘digital flashcards’. These can contain text, and image, an audio clip and video, which is really helpful for studying as it provides me with different ways of learning: I can memorize facts from text, and I can create a diagram, audio clip or image to help me remember the information. What I love about this app is that it’s also suitable for creating and giving presentations. I’ll explain each of the different sections you can use to do this below:

iFlipCards

iFlipCards are question and answer cards, where you can write or record the question or prompt on one side of the card, then record the answer on the other side. The iFlipCards section is the perfect tool for studying, as it’s allowed me to test my knowledge and see how thoroughly I know what I’m supposed to be learning. In a professional environment, it’s also helpful for practicing for interviews, and preparing tricky questions for a Q&A session. Since it’s so easy to find the cards, you can retrieve answers quickly, and use your prepared answers for support.

iFlipSlides

iFlipSlides is a relatively new addition to the iFlipTips app that enables you to create professional-looking slide shows containing images, text, video and audio. Simply create each slide separately and then put them all together. Once you’ve finished making individual slides, you can also reorganize the order and edit them as many times as you need. iFlipSlides is the perfect tool for creating useful and informative slide shows while away from a computer. As well as helping me create interactive study notes, it’s also saved me a lot of time as I can prepare important presentations while out and about.

iTipsIdeas Cards

iTipsIdeas cards are information flashcards. These are helpful for creating a record system, digital catalogue or study notes from class. I’ve used iTipsIdeas cards to create a reading record, make an inventory of things I own, and produce end-of-module notes for my studies.

One feature of iFlipTips that allows me to use the app with such flexibility is the folders system. You can create different folders and sub-folders to store notes, which mean you can create notes for different subjects, and areas of life, from study notes to shopping lists.

The calendar is one of the most recent additional features, and expands what you can do with this app. As well as keeping all my notes for college and work in one place now, I also use the app as a personal organizer. Using the calendar feature, I can add events, notes, and choose an icon to go with event so I can tell what kind of appointment it is at a glance. What’s even more useful is that the app sends push notifications when an appointment is coming up, so it keeps track of my diary for me. (image 1 and 2)

Wherever you’re working or whatever you’re doing, iFlipTips is a valuable app that will help you improve your organization all round. The app is well worth the price for the amount of time it saves, and has been helpful for both my studies and my career.

Sales Training Using iFlipTips iPhone-iPad App

IFlipTips is a note-taking and flash-flip card app for iPhone and iPad that can be used for a variety of professional and personal projects. The app is divided into three sections: iFlipCards, iTipsIdeas Cards, and, new with this version, iFlipSlides. iFlipCards allow you to create question and answer cards, iTips Ideas enable you to create quick reference cards, and iFlipSlides help you create presentations.

Preparing training sessions

Prepare for your training sessions using iTipsIdeas Cards. These digital flash cards enable you to create modules of training sessions in advance so you can feel confident in your delivery on the day. Each card can contain text, audio, video and images, all of which can help make your training more interesting.

Visual presentations can help keep participants engaged, so consider creating a display using iFlipSlides. This section of the app allows you to create slideshows without having to use a computer. Like the other cards, you can use a variety of formats on your slides, including text, image, video and audio. Each “card” becomes a slide in the presentation, and you can adjust the order of the slides as many times as you need.

Each section of iFlipTips has its own folders section, so you can organize your cards into different modules for different parts of the training. This means that, in the session itself, you don’t have to worry about omitting crucial information.

During the session

Using a variety of formats in your presentation holds people’s attention and helps them learn faster. Attendees will have different learning styles, and while some will benefit from hearing you talk about sales, others might learn quicker when they can read the information, or watch a re-enactment.

Consider creating videos and audio clips to demonstrate sales principles you’ve been teaching. For example, if you’ve just been teaching employees or course members about USPs (Unique Selling Points), then create an audio recording of a sales conversation between seller and potential client or a video demonstrating what using a USP looks like in action. This will make their training more effective, and add variety to the training session.

At the end of each section or module of the training, you can use the iFlipCards to test participants’ knowledge. These flashcards are slightly different, as they allow you to create question and answer cards. By preparing a quick quiz on the topic, you can test how much training attendees have learned during the session, and discover which topics you might need to cover again.

You can also use iFlipCards for personal preparation. If you have a question and answer time with participants at the end of the session, this section of the iFlipTips app allows you to prepare stock answers to questions you expect to receive.

After the session

iFlipTips isn’t just useful during a training session. You can also use the app to send notes to delegates or trainees afterwards using the sharing feature. Each iFlipTips card is shareable via email, Facebook and Twitter. Not only does this save you time and money printing and distributing physical resources at the event, but you can quickly and easily send attendees relevant information afterwards.

Whether you work with single clients or large groups, iFlipTips is an invaluable tool for sales training. Using the app, you can create engaging, informative sessions that help clients get results.

Study Planning Using Study App for iPhone and iPad

Creating a study plan gives you greater confidence and improves your organization. Mapping out the different subjects you have to learn, and their deadlines, also enables you to study more thoroughly for exams, as you can prepare for each test in advance rather than trying to cram all the information in at the last minute.

Each student has their own way of studying, so each individual’s study plan will be slightly different. Here are a few tips to help you create a study plan that is tailored to your needs and will help you achieve the results you want in your exams.

Make a list

Write down all the subjects you need to study, as well as the date of the relevant exam. If your exams are close together, you should aim to have done all your studying by the time the first exam arrives; otherwise you can afford to start studying for the some exams now, and leave others until a later date.

Be logical

Having made your list, you might be tempted to simply start studying for your upcoming exams in order of test date. To gain the best results, however, you should order the subjects starting with those that leave you feeling least confident, and save those feel most comfortable until last. You should also think about what grade you want or need to achieve for each exam. If you need all As, you’re going to have to put in more study time than if you just need a pass, so this will affect your study plan.

Make time

Take a calendar and map out times you’re available to study. Try not to over commit yourself as this will be stressful in the run-up to your exams. Instead, be realistic and include any existing commitments in your scheduling. Depending on how many exams you have and how much time you have to study, you should aim for around 2-4 hours of studying per day.

Start early

As well as starting your studying well before the exam period, you should also try to get as much studying done as possible early in the day. It is much better for your motivation levels if you can fit in 2-3 hours of study by lunchtime, rather than leaving it all until the evening.

Create smart notes

Use the iFlipTips app to create study notes that work. These digital flashcards help you memorize information in bite-sized pieces, improving memory retention and your ability to recall information. The more you break information down into smaller chunks, the more likely you are to remember what you’ve learned.

Include breaks

Every study plan should include time for breaks. We can only concentrate for around 30 minutes at a time, so if you carry on studying beyond this you’re unlikely to remember what you’re learning as thoroughly as you would if you took a break. Schedule in five to 10 minute breaks every half an hour to give you a chance to get a drink, stretch and relax.

Be gentle

If you’re finding it difficult to stick to your study plan, be gentle with yourself. This can be frustrating, especially if you’re under a lot of time pressure to learn what you need to know quickly. Try not to beat yourself up about slipping from the plan, and instead think about why you slipped. Are you trying to make yourself learn too much in a short time period, or are you giving yourself enough breaks? Go back to your study plan, make adjustments then start again.

The iTips-Ideas Cards are useful for creating notes and making records. It’s quick and easy to make study notes using these, so you can even do this during lessons and save yourself some study time later.

Other features

You can share all cards via email, Facebook and Twitter, enabling you to send your notes and ideas to friends, family, clients or fans. Although video and audio files are notoriously difficult to send over email, the app includes URL links to the files instead of attaching them to the message, so you can send your notes in an instant, without cluttering up the recipient’s inbox!

Each section of iFlipTips has its own folders system. Using this, you can organize your notes into your own customized filing system, so they are easily retrievable when you need them the most.

Useful for students and professionals alike, iFlipTips is a must-have app for your iPhone and iPad” – Eva (pictured).
